Husbands and Wives

T he book of Genesis records many firsts in human history. One of the most significant involves the marriage of Adam and Eve (Gen. 2:24). Some 4000 years after this event, Jesus Christ made reference to the value God places on this ancient institution. He actually declared that divorce was an enemy of marriage perpetrated by man because of the hardness of his heart (Mt. 19:8). He also explained that although divorce is a reality, it goes contrary to God’s will. Later, the apostle Paul explained that the God ordained purpose for marriage is to reveal an eternal relationship between God and His Church (Eph. 5:32).

This Mini Study examines marriage and the roles God assigned to the husband and the wife. These responsibilities are intended to make a marriage thrive and to teach about a great wedding and marriage yet to come.
