Few subjects are addressed with greater strength than the importance of thanksgiving when approaching the Almighty. His great generosity touches every part of our lives. For this He is truly worthy of our deepest appreciation. Below is a modest sample of acknowledgements to Him for His benefits.

Deuteronomy 8:10

"When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you."

I Chronicles 16:34

“O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever.”

1 Chronicles 29:11-13

"Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.

Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name."

Nehemiah 12:46-47

“For in the days of David and Asaph long ago there was a leader of the singers, and there were songs of praise and thanksgiving to God. In the days of Zerubbabel and in the days of Nehemiah all Israel gave the daily portions for the singers and the gatekeepers. They set apart that which was for the Levites; and the Levites set apart that which was for the descendants of Aaron.”

Psalm 7:17

“I will give to the Lord the thanks due to his righteousness, and sing praise to the name of the Lord, the Most High.”

Psalm 28:7

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts; so I am helped, and my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.”

Psalm 18:49

"Therefore I will praise you among the nations, O Lord; I will sing praises to your name."

Psalm 30:12

"That my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks for ever."

Psalm 31:19

“How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you.”

Psalm 50:14

Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay your vows unto the most High.”

Psalm 75:1

"We give thanks to you, O God, we give thanks, for your Name is near; men tell of your wonderful deeds."

Psalm 79:13

“So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever:we will show forth thy praise to all generations.”

Psalm 92:1-2

“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most high: To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night.”

Psalm 95:1-6

"O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker."

Psalm 96:11-12

“Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof. Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice.”

Psalm 100

"Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Psalm 105:1-2

"Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.

Psalm 106:1; 107:1

"Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures for ever."

Psalm 107:8

"Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men."

Psalm 118:1

“O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: because his mercy endures for ever.”

Psalm 118:28-29

“Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endures for ever.”

Psalm 119:62

“At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments.”

Psalm 136:1-9

Psalm 136:26

“O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endures for ever.”

Psalm 140:12-13

“I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor. Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.”

Psalm 145:7

“They will celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.”

Psalm 147:7-9

"Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; make music to our God on the harp. He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills. He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call."

Isaiah 12:4

“And you will say in that day: Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known his deeds among the nations; proclaim that his name is exalted.”

Jeremiah 33:11

“The voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voices of those who sing, as they bring thank offerings to the house of the Lord: "Give thanks to the Lord of hosts, for the Lord is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!" For I will restore the fortunes of the land as at first, says the Lord.”

II Corinthians 9:11-12

Philippians 1:3-4
